Clubs and hubs
The Young Makers program is organized as a loosely affiliated collection of clubs, each of which consisting of a few young makers and one or more mentors that collaborate on projects of their choosing. To find a club near you, see the Affiliated Clubs page. To find out more about how to start your own club, visit the Starting a Club page.
Clubs meet as often as needed to complete their project in time for exhibition. In the Bay Area, the exhibition event is Maker Faire, usually held in mid May in San Mateo.
Once a month, all the clubs in a region gather at a host institution (“hubs” for short) for a variety of events. There are currently three hubs, all in the Bay Area, but we are working to expand to other areas. Read more about the Bay Area hubs.
If you’d like to find out more about starting a hub in your area, we’d love to hear from you. Just contact us.
