Clubs with Makers exist in schools, community centers, and in neighborhoods. Some are open to new members, and others are only for the youth who are already part of the institution that hosts the club. To add your group to the directory, please fill out our Affiliated Clubs Application.
The DIY Girls afterschool maker program is designed to offer activities that will attract young girls to technology, allow them to express creativity and give them more confidence in their technical abilities. We aim to have an effect on the girls as they enter adolescence and start to form career interests. We currently have 32 fifth grade girls as members. We meet twice a week for two hours each day at Telfair Elementary School in Pacoima. Volunteers facilitate the making sessions and assist the girls with projects.
